Punjab Gets Rs 1000 Crore FDI Proposal
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Punjab has enticed global organizations from the UK, US, Canada and France across various domains such as sports infrastructure, real estate, IT, pharmaceuticals and Industrial gases. The state has acquired Rs 1000 crore FDI proposal in April 2020-January 2021. The organizations have pre-occupied land and presented a detailed project report to the government as mentioned by the Rajat Aggarwal CEO, Invest Punjab. Round Glass Pvt Ltd, a division of US-based Round Glass LLC has presented a proposal for investing Rs 455.32 Crore in the futuristic sports infrastructure. In Mohali. It will allow players to enter an international level sports eco-system with the help of experienced coaches and exceptional technical staff, nutritionist, educationalist and training facilities. Vadhera Apartment ltd is expecting to invest Rs 270 crore in a real estate project in Ludhiana in alliance with Malhotra Group’s Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK). Also, Smarter e-Learning Pvt. Ltd, a division of New York-based Netsmartz LLC, a software development organization is expected to invest Rs, 151.78 in the Mohali IT domain. Centrient Pharmaceuticals India Pvt Ltd, a division of US-based Centrient Pharmaceuticals initiated to invest Rs 135 Crore in a pharma unit in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. NCML Jalalabad will establish 50,000 MT-capacity silos for storing food grains in Fazilka. Similarly, a division of French Multinational Company Air Liquide North India (P) Ltd is constructing a unit in Patiala for Industrial gases at Rs 20 crore. ‘Despite a decrease economy, we have gained investor’s trust’.
