PM Modi and Google CEO Sundar Pichai discusses COVID-19, Technology, and more

Google’s Chief Executive officer Sundar Pichai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, share an association that is now five years old. Keeping in mind the latest world scenario, they are now in talks to create post COVID-era free from other troubles.

The association shared dates back to September 2015 when Pichai welcomed Modi to the Silicon Valley. Recently the two met virtually to discuss the economic growth and opportunities during the pandemic time. The prime focus of discussion was attracting FDI into India and the role of technology giants in fine tuning the economy. Pichai is set to address a virtual audience in a talk ‘Google for INDIA 2020’.

The PM has recently affirmed that India was laying the red carpet for all international companies and also that India is a much better and lucrative destination for foreign investment than many others. He had also clarified that the scheme Aatmanirbhar Bharat is all about self-reliance. Don’t confuse it with shutting out foreign investors.

During the first stint as PM, Narendra Modi visited the hq of American Corporations and also invited majors like Uber and Facebook to New Delhi in order to celebrate startups.

With Google, India shares many collaborations for government initiatives, including with Indian Railways.
