Market Value Of UK FDI In India Exceeds The US: RBI Census
The Market value of UK FDI in India at 5,31,200 crore exceeds the US 5,25,771 crore as of March-end 2020. It was mentioned in RBI’s latest census on Foreign Liabilities and Assets of India Direct Investment companies 2019-20. In 219, the market value of US FDI was higher than of the UK. By March end 2020, the market value of FDI investment in India by Mauritius decreased to 4,86,561 crores. FDI from Singapore and Netherlands raised to 4,14,299 crores respectively.
The total market value of FDI investment from all the nation in India was about 1 percent higher at 32,59,226-crore than 32,20,715-crore. About 94 percent of the FDI was by equity and balance in the form of debts. The market evaluation of equity of the listed organizations was strongly determined by the stock market crash at the onset of the covid pandemic. FDI equity of the unlisted organizations observed a 15.9 percent growth during the same period.
The nation-wise distribution of the overseas direct investment indicates that the market value was high in Singapore at 1,38,105 crore followed by the US and then the Netherlands. The complete market value of ODI was increased by 13% during 2019-20.
