India Acquired $1422 Mn FDI From the UK

The FDI inflow from the UK has raised from $898 million in 2015-16 to $1422 mn in 2019-20 as per the Grant Thornton Bharat’s Britain report declared on Wednesday. The report prepared in the association Confederation of India Industry and with the help of the UK’s Department of Trade witness the latest trends in the UK investment in India.

‘According to the research, it is determined 572 UK organizations in India with a consolidated turnover of around Rs, 3390 billion, tax payment of around Rs 173 billion and they have hired 416,121 people directly, this also contemplates crucial contribution made by the UK organizations to the Indian economy as a primary combination in India’s growth story’ stated by Pallavi Joshi Bakhru, Partner and India-UK Corridor Leader at Grant Thornton Bharat.

The report has forecast India-UK bilateral relations to get stronger in the post covid world. The UK organizations have aimed at Industrial and business service domain. Maharashtra has been introduced as the top investment destination for the UK organizations followed by Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Telangana and Karnataka.
